Peach Iced Tea

The sweet flavours of this Peach Iced tea recipe originated in the hot, humid south of the United States and has become synonymous with the region over the years. The following recipe is our take on this traditional summer classic. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 Cup of sugar (or other natural sweetener)

2 cups of water

2 peaches, diced

Instructions:

Bring 1 cup of sugar, 2 cups of water, and 2 diced peaches to a boil in a small saucepan. Then lower heat and use a wooden spoon to stir and crush the peaches to infuse the flavour. You can use less sugar or something like maple syrup if you’re limiting your refined sugar intake.

Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and leave to cool for 25-30 minutes.

Brew your tea using either a large pot or a tea maker, we like to use Green Tea for this but Black Ceylon is great too.

After steeping, strain out the tea leaves and transfer to a pitcher or bottle. Refrigerate to cool.

Strain your peach syrup into glasses and add as much of the tea as you desire. Garnish with fresh peach slices, mint and ice cubes.

Bonus tip: This recipe makes a great cocktail if you add champagne or rum!
